Colcannon
Colcannon is a common St. Patrick's day dish which usually consists of mashed potatoes, chopped kale, and green onions. Colcannon usually takes 10 minutes to prepare and 25 minutes to cook. To make colcannon you need 4 russet potatoes peeled and cut in large chunks, salt, 5-6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 3 packed cups of kale, cabbage, and other green leafy things, 3 green onions, and 1 cup of milk or cream. Once you cook and mash the potatoes with cream or milk, add the chopped greens, then mix together. Serve the dish hot when done.
Irish Soda Bread
Irish soda bread is sometimes eaten at breakfast, warmed up and served with butter. How do you make Irish soda bread you might ask, well you need 7/8 cups of flour, 5/8 cups whole wheat flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 egg, 1 cup buttermilk, and 1/4 stick of butter. To make the batter pour all of the dry ingredients into a mixer and mix that together, then add the butter. When you are still mixing, add the buttermilk and the egg and mix that together. It takes about 40 minutes to bake at 375 degrees farinehite.

Irish stew is a stew that usually has lamb and vegetables. There are many ways to make Irish stew, it depends on what you like. In this version of Irish stew has lamb, carrots, boiled potatoes, chives, parsley, thyme {the spice}, bay leaf, onions, and chicken stock. Cook the onions in oil in butter, add some thyme. Then add the lamb with the chicken stock and vegetables. Cover the stew add cook it for 2 hours on low heat.

Corned beef and cabbage is a very common dish in Ireland, eaten for St. Patrick's Day. Corned beef and cabbage consists of vegetables, like carrots, cabbage, and anything you want. Once the meat is tender, add the carrots and the whole potatoes in the pot. Cook the vegetables till tender, then add the cabbage. Once you add the cabbage, let it cook for 15 more minutes. Then let the remove the meat and let it rest for another 15 minutes. Cover the vegetables and add some chicken stock. Then cut the meat while you are waiting for the vegetables, then boom your done.
